Jeans Staying Damp in Monsoon? How to Improve Your Drying Routine

by Color Hunt 22 Oct 2026

During humid weather, jeans may feel dry at the leg while the waistband and pockets still hold moisture. Folding them too early can leave you with an unpleasant smell and another wash to do.

Check the thick sections

Feel the waistband, pocket bags and seams before putting the jeans away. These areas can take longer to dry than the main panels. Give the garment enough space rather than folding it over itself in several layers.

Prioritise airflow and permitted care

Use the drying method allowed by the label, in a suitable well-ventilated area. Avoid leaving the jeans packed among other damp clothes. Do not use an iron or excessive heat as an improvised way to dry a wet garment.

Plan your rotation

Wash early enough to allow complete drying, and keep an alternative outfit ready during rainy stretches. If the jeans have developed a persistent damp smell, follow the appropriate washing instructions rather than covering it with fragrance.

Browse Color Hunt Regular Fit jeans as part of an everyday wardrobe, while choosing your outfit for the day's conditions. Denim does not need to be worn before it is fully dry simply because it was the outfit you originally planned.
