Straight fit is the fit most people picture when they think "jeans" — a timeless, no-surprises silhouette that's stayed in rotation for decades.
As the name suggests, the leg runs at a consistent width from the thigh down to the ankle, without tapering in or flaring out. There's enough room to sit comfortably, but the overall line stays clean and controlled.
Straight fit works across body types, dress codes and age groups better than almost any other cut, which is why it's a permanent fixture in denim collections rather than a seasonal trend.
It's slimmer through the leg than relaxed or loose fit, but roomier than a slim or skinny cut — the true middle ground of the fit spectrum.
